I won NaNoWriMo. Save for the rocky beginning there, I mostly felt good about the work. Have I sat down to write the novel since the last day of November? Nope. But I do plan on finishing this one.
Not that I ever begin a project with the goal of not completing it.
Since it’s December, I have a lot to look forward to. My youngest brother just turned seventeen on the fifth. I have a baby shower for my sis-in-law Sunday. Christmas will be here before I know it. I want to spend time with family and friends. I also want to read! There are so many books that are waiting for me to sit down with them, and I haven’t done very well with my reading goal. To date, I’ve read 59/100 books. That’s weak! And some of those are even children’s picture books, which are essential to humanity but aren’t very long at all.
2017 is coming to a close, and I want to start thinking of goals for 2018. I’m horrible at accomplishing goals. Horrible! But maybe if I write them down, as well as put a plan in place to reach them, 2018 can actually be pretty successful.
I need to be my own personal cheerleader.
But before I worry about what I want my accomplishments to be for the upcoming year, I need to finish Christmas shopping. And I need to attempt to keep myself from spending money on myself.
What can I say? I know what I like.
